Battery question

I just have a small trolling motor (minn kota endura c2 30/lb) the minn kota book suggests 105A/h, but spacing wise I'd rather buy a grp 24 battery. If I bought a 95a/h battery would that just limit the time I can use the motor, or would it reduce performance as well. I'll also be running a humminbird piranhamax fishfinder.

Thanks

The ah rating describes the capacity - so higher gives you more running time. Trojan makes a group 24 battery I was actually looking at that is 100 ah - model #SCS150

Yes the amp/hour rating specifies how much capacity that battery will output over time. So no your trolling motor won't run slower until your battery starts to run out of electrical power.

Appreciate the help guys. I'm just hoping to maybe get 3 hours of use give or take so I'm hoping the 95-100 will be enough

A group 27 battery is only marginally larger than a 24 and only marginally more expensive. If you absolutely need three hours of run time (which depends on duty cycle and speed) a 24 may not get the job done and a 27 may provide enough extra time to meet that goal.
