I want to put a battery switch between my two 12 volt batteries so I don't drain my start battery during night fishing. They are currently hooked up in parallel. Which wire do I put the switch on between the batteries (+) or (-)?

Re: Battery Switch

I say the negative. Electrons flow from neg to pos and it cuts em off quicker...:D:D:D

on the switch you should run pos bat 1,pos bat 2,and com that is a pos between bat 1&2 to run your accessorys off of.then run a jumper between the neg of bat 1&2.

Re: Battery Switch

Ayuh,... While most commonly, the (+) positive is used as the switching circuit,...
It Really, Really Don't matter...

I'd go with the Perko style switch Joe is talkin' about, 'n use the (+) Positive side to do the wiring myself....
The (-) Negative side won't need to be touched...
