Hi all,
I'm planning to attach an Endura 36 transom mount trolling motor on my searay 180. I plan to attached it to the boat's main battery. I'm just curious if that's OK and how often I have to start the boat motor to charge the battery if I plan to run the trolling more for say five or six hours. I'm just concern that the main battery might die on me. Also, are there any concerns with the trolling motor disrupting the electrical system in the boat. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: battery usage

In my opinion, you are asking to be stranded with a dead battery. Any serious power guzzler (such as a trolling motor) should be run on a seperate deep cycle battery.

The other guys are right on. If you are not adding an additional battery, because of funds, wait until you have them. I would strongly suggest dual batteries, you will be glad you did.

Re: battery usage

Even without a trolling motor, I prefer to have 2 batteries.Get yourself a second battery and a switch. I,m assuming your talking about an electric troller. Jim
