I am looking for someone that has a Bayliner 170 that can give me the measurements of the engine well. From the Bayliner website these are the exact same boat with different engines. I plan on converting my 175 to the 170 as I love the boat, just not what's powering it.

Sell 175, buy 170. The boats are basically the same except largely different where it counts. Your wanting to convert from I/O to outboard. Generally that is done with a pod and on such a small boat will change your handling greatly. The transom you’ll find is vastly different. Cutting it down and building a splash well is not going to go like you think it will

It's been for sale for 4 months. No offers. I cannot let it sit and rot so I have to do something with it.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it. There's like 10 of them for sale here. No one wants inboard/outboard.
Nobody’s going to want a conversion either, especially with what you would need to charge for it.

My advice is to donate the boat and claim it on your taxes. If you need to get rid of it

There have been several I/O to OB conversions on Iboats over the years. Very few completed, non were happy with the results unless they used a pod

I agree to sell it and buy what you want. Even if you gave away your current boat, buying an OB boat will be less $ than a conversion
