Hi,

Everything I've read about the 1988 capri says it has a 25 or 27 gallon tank. However, I actually looked at the tank plate while cleaning up the fuel guage sender yesterday and it's a 33 gallon tank. Date on it is 1987 so it's original. What gives? This makes my fuel guage much more accurate, all the while I was thinking it was a 25 gallon tank and the guage was really off, but if it's really 33 gallons then the guage is actually pretty accurate (not perfect) with the boat level...

Re: Bayliner Fuel Tank

Yeah I'm not complaining. :D Just wondering....

I'm going to keep a 5 gallon cas can on the boat and run the thing dry just to watch the guage so I know what to expect. I never go far and 5 gallons will get me back from wherever I go, no problem. I have three fuel filters including a screw-on filter/water separator so I'm hoping that will keep my carb clean during the experiment if there's any crap in the tank. Right now the guage is at about 2/3 full when level, I think I've run about 35 - 40 miles on it. We'll see....
