I am in the market for a used boat. I came acrossed a used bayliner. I have heard some rumors that bayliners were not great on quality. I am looking at a 1991 (i think) bayliner 23 W/A Trophy with twin 120 force outboards. The boat has been sitting in a garage for two or three years now. I am wondering what this boat is worth. It has some electronics in it and the trailer is included. Any other comments will be appreciated!

Hi, Shaun.

Bayliners are boats built to a low price.

JD Power rates them the poorest quality and lowest owner initial satisfaction of any boat surveyed.

They have to be very cheap to be worth the price.

Good luck. :)

ok, what do i need to look for if i go look at one? i have mixed emotions on it now after reading those posts. it does have twin 120 forces on it and i am not glad about that but are they dependable? do all the trophys have the plywood decking and transoms? what is a good asking price for it?

this is how boat surveyors make their living.
regardless of make/model you look at, do you
know the little things to look for that will
tell you how she's been taken care of? is it
a creampuff or has it been rode hard & put away
wet?
if you're spending the kinda money I think u r,
it's the best investment you can make. buying a
boat is VERY emotional, surveyors aint!
just my .02
good luck and be safe :D

Don't buy it - It's a Bayliner...with a Force too yet!!

I am the only survivor with a Bayliner still floating, and the only Force engine still running! All the rest fell through their rotten plywood floors as their Bayliners sunk, or were blown to bits when their Force engines blew up!
