My Johnson 1990 60 horsepower outboard calls for 19 degrees at bottom dead center. I'm attempting to do the Reeves method to get my timing back right. But if I'm shooting for bottom dead center do I start with cylinder one at bottom dead center??? Because there Reeds method

With all due respect to Joe, his method is not a Do All for All Engines. It is better to follow the Manufacturers Procedure

I have done those 3 cylinders using the reeves method and has worked well for me.

I've done Joe Reeve's method on all motors that will let you do it and it's a hell of a lot safer than hanging over the back of a boat at WOT if you don't have a test wheel.
