Beach button no worky

I have a 1999 Volvo 4.3L GL with an SX-M 1:79 outdrive. I have the throttle control that has the "beach button" but it does not seem to work. My trim works fine up and down.....but when I trim it all the way up and it stops....shouldn't I be able to then push the beach button and trim it up even further?

The boat is new to me and I am not sure how it should or shouldn't work??

Where do I start my search to figure out why it will not work? Maybe I am using the button incorrectly? :(

Any insight would be helpful!

Thanks!

I think you need to hold both the trim up button and the trailer button together to get it all the way up.

The "beach" button(never heard it called that before) won't work on its own.

Volvo used a couple different setups around that time period. You can go to the link below and download an owners manual for your setup. You will need either the full model number (including the letters after the 4.3GL) or the engine serial number to get the right manual.
The manual shows you how to use the different types.

Don,

Thanks for the link. It says my drive can be tilted 55 degrees...I am guessing that is the "maximum" tilt?

I am just curious because when the boat is on the trailer....the drive seems lower than it should be...could be my type of trailer too I guess.

Anyway, thanks again for the help. It is most appreciated!:D

Post your FULL model or serial number for your engine, I have the manual links for the downloadable manuals.
BUT,,,,,, There is NO information about your problem in them.

PS, year doesn't help, as that is the year of the boat and not necessarily the year of your engine and drive.
