Hi Bear and everyone else

I have a 1994 Mercury 30 hp Sea Pro short shaft tiller steer.

I have had a problem with it for a while and haven't been able to rectify it.

An aquaintance of mine used the boat for 5 minutes while I walked up the street home and tookit for a drive in the shallows and sucked a whole lot of river mud (esturine) into the motor. I have flushed it out on a number of occasions and changed the impeller as well. The tell tale is working fine and has good pressure out of it but the motor is now overheating and the alarm goes off when operting at high revs.

Does anyone know of a way to unblock the channels in the motor head without pulling it apart.

Am I on the right track that the motor has mud still in it blocking the water channels or is there some other problem why it would over heat. It worked fine before the **** head stuffed it on me.

Bear can you give me the email address of the mercury parts diagrams you sent me before I cant find which motor it would be. The sn is 06098167 or 0G098167.

The advice you gave me about the changing the diaphram was spot on.

Cheers

Deza
