Was doing my normal walk around check and noticed one of my BB was empty. Looked behind the wheel and the wheel, tire, axle and disk for the brake is covered in grease. What causes this and what do I need to replace? Hey, the good news is the my disk isn't rusted. :D

Sounds like you blew the rear axel seal........thats where all that grease came from. Usually this is from over filling the bearing buddies.

Bearing buddies are great until over filled. Grease should only be pumped until the diaphragm starts to move not until the diaphragm stops moving. You'll have to pull the wheel, clean everything and replace the seal with a new one. hand pack the bearings prior to installation and when you re-fill the bearing buddies in the future do so according to the notes above and all should be well.

Thanks guys. Will pull it apart this evening when the temp drops down below 100. I can tell you that it wasn't from overfilling. As I only keep enough in there to move the spring just enough to see grease indicator.
