Bearing buddy O-rings - is there a size chart anywhere?

Mine aren't necessarily 'bad', but the trailer has been sitting so I'd like to toss in new O-rings on my bearing buddies while I have the hubs apart. Anyone know if there's a size chart for the Bearing Buddy O-rings?

Mine appear to be measuring 59.5mm - 60mm OD x 54.5 - 55mm ID with a cross section of 2.5mm. It's always tough to measure used O-rings accurately - especially these thin ones.

McMaaster's web site shows a standard O-ring of 60 x 55 x 2.5, so I'm going to assume that's the size I need, but an official size chart would be extremely helpful!
With any luck my local hardware store has them.

These things are so cheap, why would you want to rebuild one?
It’s been a while, but the last time I checked SS BBs where $85 a pair and I need 2 pairs.

If I can fix all them for $2.00 in o-rings and an hour of my time, I making $169 a hour to work on my own stuff…lol

I don't have to rebuild mine per-sey, - my boat has been sitting for several years and I wanted to put in fresh O-rings while I was doing my bearings. Not to mention my Bearing Buddies are over 20 years old. I think they deserve a fresh seal! Mine are the 2441ss model.

Good news though.. I contacted Bearing Buddy and asked what size the O-rings were. They didn't answer that question, but instead are sending me new ones free of charge! THAT'S customer service!

I think the rings are 53 or 54mm OD x 2.5mm CS. It's difficult to get an accurate measurement with used O-rings especially with thin ones like these. I wanted to put in some better Viton types. Maybe I can get a more accurate measurment when I get the new ones for future information. I could always take the shotgun approach and buy a couple different sizes. They are less than a $1 each. Pennies for the regular Buna-type..

Thanks for the replies!

Diameters are easy. A calibrated eyeball is close enough to distinguish one size from the other.

The ID are spaced roughly 0.060” intervals in the smaller sizes. Well with the limitations of caliper measurements.

I never rarely measure the o-ring proper. Always the measure the diameter of the groove on a shaft or the bore on a housing.

Wouldn’t waste my time with fluorocarbon (Viton) in this applications. Buna-N will hold up just as well chemically and you don’t have to deal with fluorocarbons nasty habit of taking a compression set.
