Does anyone have this tool from mercury for removing bearing carriers from lower ends? I am trying to track down the dimensions of this tool so that I can make myself one. Can anyone help me out with this?

We made one by using a piece of pipe and cutting 3 notches in it 120 degrees apart about 1/2" wide and then thinning the end to slip into the slot on the carrier then drilled a hole in the other end to use a bar to turn it.

Do you have a feel for what the ID and OD of the tube is that you used? I am sure I can back it out of the hub once I get it off, but knowing in advance would help.

Thanks for the 120 deg info though, that was one of the unknowns.
