I have the spring loaded bearing buddies on my jon boat trailer. I filled it up and trailered the boat about 80 miles on Saturday and there is grease everywhere on the inside of the tire. It looks like the grease is coming out the back of the hub. What do I need to do? I there a seal I need to replace or do I need to replace everything? Thanks

There is a rear seal that needs to be replaced, but you have to take everything off and out to get at it so I'd do both seals and both bearings. Check the races and replace them if there is any pitting.

You won't know untill you pull it apart. The bearings could be fine and this was just a case of overloading the bearing buddies. Don't be surprised if the drums (if you have brakes) are gunked up also. Clean everything and inspect and do not reuse the old seals. If it has been awhile since you pulled them apart you were due anyway.

Did this happen right after you installed the bearing buddies? If so, you very likely overloaded the hubs. When using bearing buddies you pump only enough grease into make the disk move off its seat. Any more than that causes too much pressure inside the hub and you blow out the seal. The seal can be replaced without disassembling the entire hub, but once you have it off, you won't have a better chance to clean everything up, repack the bearings and install a new seal.
