O.K. for folk's that do not know "I don't boat" but I own a boat and keep it in the water for my son and 70 plus year old neighbor. No I do not need any more kids and or neighbors! This web site has saved my butt and wallet time after time. This is My question, after the "men" launched the boat last night I was looking the trailer over and put my foot on the tire and gave it a good kick/push. and it seems to have some play (in/out) at the top of the wheel. we are talking about 1/4 on both sides just enough to make a pop sound. so after the fishing trip and the boat was loaded I went the long way home, about 45 min on the xway running at and above the limit to see if anything was warm. and found nothing. cool/to slight warm to the touch both sides I would say from the breaks, other than that nothing. This rig has been serviced every year and I have all paperwork to prove it. is the (pop) sound I hear the break pads? the rig we are running is a 1996 Four Winn 19' horizon with a Four Winn trailer painted to match. No we don't have a Hemi, but it look's fast!! thanks for all and any input

Re: Bearings ?

I'd be real tempted to jack up the trailer, get that wheel off the ground and really get a good feel of it. There should be no wobble in the bearing at all - well, not a 1/4" anyway.
Just because it didn't get warm doesn't mean it's not bad. Maybe the lugs nuts are loose ! Do yourself a favor and check it out. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself take it to a reputable shop.
