Wondering if anyone has ever applied a Rhino bedliner type paint on cuddy cabin floor. Ready to rip carpet out of my cuddy cabin (1992 Rinker Fiesta Vee 260). The carpet stays wet and stinks! If anyone has done this, please give tips and/or pics!

Thanks!!!

Re: Bedliner on cuddy cabin floor

There's a similar product called Durabak, and marine applications are one of the intended purposes. I just put it on my deck and it seems to be really durable. There are slip-resistant and smooth versions available. Most folks (me included) put a coat of the slip-resistant down, with a coat or two of the smooth on top.

You can check my transom rebuild thread to see some pictures of it.

Good luck!

Re: Bedliner on cuddy cabin floor

I just used a Durabak UVR product on my deck and am really pleased with the result. I just put down 2 coats of the slip-resistant version. I've written a few tips from what I found in the rebuild thread in my signature.

Thanks JAS. As you mention in your thread I found I had to wear my respirator when applying the Durabak as well.

There may be an evil or 2 waiting for you under your cabin deck carpet... like wet/rotten decking and maybe wet foam under that.

Make sure your decking is completely dry and not rotten before applying the bed liner because it won't bond to wet wood.
