mercruiser 5.0L MPI. (don't have numbers with me right now)
I asked a question a few days ago looking for help reading the ddt to help me figure out this buzzing problem but I gave up with the ddt
I have another way I'm thinking about diagnosing it but am looking for any other ideas, or to see if this will even work.
First, my problem is I get two beeps every minute on the minute while nothing is wrong (oil, temp, gear lube are all fine). It only starts beeping a few minutes after running and will continue with the engine off in the run position.
To diagnose it i'm thinking about this: The engine guardian system brings the power down to 90% and gives off two beeps when there is a faulty sensor and will bring the power down and beep more when more sensors are faulty. Therefore if I pull off a working sensor while this other sensor is bad the beeps will change and the power will go down more.
Would it make sense for me to pull off sensors one at a time listening for a change in beeps till I get a sensor that doesn't cause a change in the beeps indicating that I have just pulled the already bad sensor?
