Here is the back of my boat. The hull is curved fron the chine in.
http://www.hardcoresledder.com/forums/index.php?s=c1b39f39051b095bf89d9fb9ca68ecd9&showtopic=89756
I would like to be sure before I drill the holes.
Am I better off moving the tabs more to the centre and maintaining the 1/2 inch gap evenly from the bottom to the tabs or farther out and not maintaining the 1/2 inch gap?
I taped the ruler there so anyone can give advice.
At what point should I start the outside of hinge?
How about the gap?
Thanks

You didn't mean to place them parallell to that ruler, did you? Just to be sure: The tabs should be parallell to the hull's bottom, NOT parallell to the ground.

Here's what I mean:

http://home.broadpark.no/~ssjoborg/Smart Tabs Installation/index.html

As for how far outwards, I think you'd better wait for NautiJohn on that one.

No, lol.
The ruler is just for distance.
The only place it would be truely parallell to the hull would be to start at about the 5 inch mark on the ruler, or about 10 inches from the outside edge of the transom.
From there out the bottom is curved to the chine.
I also used a larger picture this time to show the curve..

Voodoo;

Start where the ruler shows about 9" so that this is the outrside edge of the trim plate. follow the "V" angle of the bottom. An inch or so one way or another is not going to hurt anything.

John, I googed and started at about 1" instead of 3 from ext. of hull but they are working great and unless you say otherwise plan to leave them there. Ranger Bass Boat.
