Post either the full model number (ALL the letters) or the serial number of your engine. Year doesn't work in marine engines.

Re: Begginer

Should have no problems finding a propeller here at iBoats (or elsewhere) for that drive.
Just look for a propeller for "Aquamatic 290 (long hub)".

One link for 17" pitch here: http://boatpropellers.iboats.com/Volvo_Penta-Sterndrive-Propellers/?rotation=Standard&pitch=17.00&chart=97&engine_id=646&*******=001102022

And yes, propeller can be either LH or RH. You change that easily by moving the shift linkage under the little "cover" on the outdrive.
And if changing direction, you also have to adjust the little trim fin under the anti-ventilation plate. Else you'll have a serious amount of "torque steer" (maybe not so noticeable if power steering, but putting huge and unnecessary strain on steering components).

I'm not sure, but it seems like earlier Aquamatic came with LH props as standard, while later models seem to have RH. I have never figured out if there is a "real" difference...
