I aquired a deluxe 4 E4RDHCUD B1382644.

The decal at the fuel interface reads 100:1 just want to qualify that is correct.

Then of course can you recomend a champion plug #.
The manual is on its way but still a few days out.
Nice litte motor starts on the first pull, $300.00 well invested I believe.

Re: Belgium deluxe 4 100:1 ?

OMC did try to run many small engines on 100:1 in the late 80s, songdog. Yours is a 1987, by the way. They were trying to reduce emissions.

After many complaints of corrosion when stored for a while they changed all those engines back to specify 50:1. Though the 100:1 mix worked well when runnning it didn't leave adequate oil coating on ferrous parts to protect them from moisture in the air.

Bottom line? Use 50:1.

Good luck. :)

Thanx JB I was somewhat skeptical on the 100:1 maybe for trolling but for every day use I'm a 50:1 guy.

Hi Songdong,
I have a '87 E4RLCUD which I used on my sailboat for several years. The close quarters of my new berth require that I now have a reverse gear for emergency stopping.
Because of the primer (not the primer bulb) this motor always starts on the first pull, even in winter, even after a month of non-use.
The instruction book states "50:1 must be used at all times on recreational motors used for comercial or extended service...failure to do so can result in damage..."
I use 14 oz./4 gal., or about 35:1; it smokes a little, but in salt water, I like everything to be a little oily.
