Well it's that time of year and gonna tackle this one last time...going to replace drive bellows and trim sensors. Does anyone know if that cable guide tool is necessary or can it be done without ( putting the outdrive back on)? If after I successfully replace the bellows going try to attempt to find the intermittent issue with boat shutting off, one last time before I guess I sell and eat a loss. Depressing.

It`s not a required tool to install a drive. The intermittant problem can be a problem If just shutting off like with the key, look for loose corroded connections. Start with the cannon plug on the engine. You dont tell us what your working on so were just guessing .If you suspect electrical pull cannon plug and hot wire the coil. That will tell if its in the harness or on the engine side

Hi
Wondering if you have noticed any trends on the STALLING such as:

--When shifting from forward to reverse or vice versa
---Under acceleration
----At Idle
----Or just any old time
-----Only when a lot of people are watching :D
-----Does it always restart right away -- If not have you been able to check for spark?

That's usually very helpful in debug. If you want to post that info we may be able tp offer some guidance.

Have the tool, never used it. (Check out my video on re-installing a drive)
