I'll check that but it's likely been painted over with anti-foul.
Thanks for the suggestion

Engine: 434APNCA
Transom Bracket: 3868413
Single Prop Vertical Drive: 3868389 (1.66:1)

I've got the factory OMC Sterndrive Single And Dual Prop Vertical Drive Installation Instruction Manual "NC" Models. Came with all that handy paper work!

I don't think it really matters. I use Sierra spline grease but only because I happened to buy it once.
Ok thanks. Only asking cause I happened to read in the manual and other posts to use regular general purpose grease on nose of drive and studs, wheel bearing grease on u-joints and moly grease on driveshaft splines. Can't find straight moly grease in the auto parts store. Guess I could go get some "spline grease" to be safe but figured I'd ask since I have the moly ep.
Thanks again Bruce!

Took advantage of the nice weather and went at the bellows full force!!! First step, remove pivot housing bolts... Ummm yeah right! No go. Not even budging a bit and that's after soaking the snot out of em with kroil. Anyway, determined as I was I was able to do the job with the pivot housing in place. Just a bit of maneuvering but it's done and both bellows have been successfully replaced. Some pics to show the new installs.

Drive bellows

Exhaust bellows.

all in all pretty easy to do especially of I didn't have to spend time fighting corrosion. Anyway, this is totally doable with the pivot housing in place. Thanks all for your input and advice as always. Looks like future replacements I will just leave the trim/tilt pivot pin and pivot housing alone.

How were you trying to remove them?

Used a 1/2" hex drive with a 1/2" ratchet. Ratchet wasn't that long or big (12" maybe). I say was cause it's no longer... Bent it trying to get these loose. I guess I could've tried a breaker bar or something but don't have one and scared of breaking something. Same with using heat. Don't wanna melt anything inside.

Hmm I was able to break mine loose....and the boat sits in salt water every season 6 months....but every one is different...and one nice thing about the original OMC Cobra design that Volvo copied is that you CAN do the bellows with the pivot housing on...unlike Mercs.....
