My manual says use sealer on ujoint bellows plus the clamp.(Cobra Drive)Some places I have talked to say they do use sealer and some don't.I am intersted in hearing from others that have replace their ujoint belows.Did you use sealer and clamp or just the clamp? Also does everyone replace the 6 drive nuts everytime they take the drive off? Thanks just wondered. What do you use for sealer on the bellows if you are using sealer?

Re: Bellows sealing

i used the mercury brand sealant on my bellows, some discussions say 3M brand weatherstrip adhesive is ok to use. the mercury was very sticky and 'gooey'. nothing on my clamps, but don't have a cobra drive. did not install new nuts, old ones were tight going back on.

Re: Bellows sealing

I have an alpha set up and I would never do a job like that without using the glue. 3m weather strip auto glue is the same stuff.Make sure it is sanded and cleaned before sealing.Spread the glue on both surfaces and let it dry.Spread some more on one of the surfaces and put the bellows on and clamp it down good.On the alpha ,the bellows has a flat side that must go towards the shift cable.Make sure to read the manual.Charlie

Re: Bellows sealing

Hello, Use the glue. It is a contact cement and it is also the last line of defense against water creeping in there in the event that the clamp should ever come loose. As far as the locknuts go, rule of thumb is don't reuse more than twice. Good luck!

Are you guys using the yellow 3M or the slower black stuff. How do you get it off next time?

Re: Bellows sealing

Hello, I use a small brown rolock disk on a mini right angle die grinder. Comes off like magic!
