Am I losing my mind here? I replaced my impeller and reinstalled everything on my 2003 searay, 5.0 MPI with bravo 3 and power steering, brass seawater pump. The S/N. is .0m624941 . Followed the book for belt replacement..using the old/same belt and even with the tensioner as far as it goes the belt is about 2-3 inches too long, maybe alittle more. Am I missing something here? The tensioner is the only thing that adjusts and I followed the belt route and now its too long????? The belt has been off since fall when I winterized it. I know its not routed wrong but somethings not right here..??..??..??

If you have had it off since last winter and are just now putting it on... my bet would be you have it routed wrong somewhere. I know you say you are sure... but it is easy to put it on a different way or skip a pulley or go in the wrong order.... if you are using the old belt then that is about the only real option. They don't stretch while in storage. ;)

Wrong routing is the only thing it can be. It should be like this. Your mistake is probably how you went around the cranshaft and circulation pump pulleys
