Belt number or size

mercruiser 1987, eng. 5.L eng. ser.0B683659 need water pump/alt. belt number or size, picked up new boat and things real messed up, automotive stuff used wrong parts belt too thin rubbing on bottom of pulley trying to get things back to what should be on the rig.

The number you posted above was your drive serial number. But for your convenience, below should be your engine number for you.
ENG: 0B741607 Model number 02602347 MERCRUISER 260
DRV: 0B683659 Model number 01501017 MERCRUISER MC1 1.50:1

It's kind of difficult to know exactly what belt you need using the serial number as they have two designs.

INTAKE MANIFOLD AND FRONT COVER(DESIGN II) you will see your belt and the sizes they offer. This should help you when you compare your engine to the parts link.
