hi ,does anyone have any tips on how to staighten a fin on the bottom of a out board motor? its a 91 evinrude 115 ,i got caught in some swells in a storm and bottomed out the motor and put a pretty good bend in the fin...should i heat it up before trying to get it back in place? im scared of breaking it right off..

Well, it's only there to protect the prop. If it's bent a lot, it might break when straightening ... don't use heat. If it breaks, a good tig welder can weld a piece of aluminum plate on and grind it so you'll never know. You'll just have to refinish it.

How bad is it ?? How about a photo ?? degree of damage will determine the best repair scenario.
It can most likely be repaired no problem though.
