Bent Prop Shaft on 25 EFI

The prop shaft on my '07 Mercury 25 EFI is very slightly bent. So slight that even a reputable repair shop in the area didn't even catch it on a test ride and removal of the lower unit. However, we did notice it the next time I took it in when we hand spun the prop. It's very slight and there's no water intrusion or noticeable vibration. My question is, with a small motor, is this something I should address?

If so, what are your thoughts on these? There's a repair shop in my area that does this for $50.

Motor has <40 hours on it.

Re: Bent Prop Shaft on 25 EFI

if its not affecting performance and its not covered by insurance i wouldnt touch it.

after breaking the skeg on my alpha1 outdrive we noticed the prop shaft was bent the same. i wouldnt have botherd doing anything because the boat worked fine with a new prop.

but insurance fixed the stainless prop, and put a new lower unit + new prop shaft which was probably a $5000+ repair

Make sure it's the shaft and not prop wobble and if it is bothersome to you have it removed and straightened
