Bent Shaft????

Purchased a new (used) motor recently and noticed that when I spin the prop there is a very small yet noticeable whobble. I orginally thought that maybe the prop was out of balance so I purchased a new one. Still has some movement with the new prop. If there is no vibration when running (forward) is it OK to continue to run??

I was wondering if anyone out there had experienced similar problems, and if so how much would this set me back$$$ to repair.

Any help of this will be greatly appreciated.

Take the prop off and clamp some sort of pointer close to the shaft to see how much run out if any.Also check side to side play if any.

Thank you for the response.

Just checked the side to side play and it feels like no play at all. Will check the other step as soon as this rain quits here in Texas.
