Hello from far far east europe. First take my apologise for my bad english but I hope you will understand what I want. I have big dilemma about 2 cycle OB oil. I have 2003 Mercury 200 hp carb and primary duty of my engine is 3months working with tourist for water attraction like tubing, ski and parachute. So engine stress is big. Here in my region all know is the best oil is Premium plus or premium quicksilver. I also used it and dont have any mechanical problems...but have smoke big smoke on first start. So can you give me advice about oils from your practice

All 2 stroke outboards can produce smoke, especially at first start up, regardless of oil used. I use a full synthetic oil by Pennzoil and it still will make a cloud of smoke when I first start it up.....it's doubtful there's much you can do to prevent it...

+1....Fuel evaporates leaving a heavier than usual oil fuel to oil ratio in the carbs. That combined with the choking process (dumping raw fuel in the carb) it's going to smoke no matter what oil you use.

If it's smoking excessvly during warm starts then I would suggest checking the float levels in the carburetors and modifying you starting procedure.

Continue using what the manufacturer suggest's, the smoke is just part of owning a 2 stroke outboard motor. I'm not aware of any 2 stroke that doesn't have the smoke issue except the ETEC 2 strokes. I have one on a snowmobile and it really doesn't smoke much at all. I will be the outboard ETEC's are the same way, pricey but good quality outboards.

Yeah im also big Etec fan but in my country Evinrude services are very small and very hard for maintence from mechanics. What you think about Lubrimatic oils?
