anyone suggest? any big difference from 25 to 30 if on the verge of be able to pull someone. Not looking for any wake, just pulling someone on large board. Was thinking about the 30hp etec evinrude, since its 2 stoke.

Iboats sells what you're looking for. Click on the link above for an example. Good luck with your choice, a 30 will be a lot better than a 25 for towing tubes and boards.

On a RIB weight is a crucial factor.
I would rather buy an 'old' two stroke than a 'new' 4-stroke/E-tech.

Two stroke 30Hp Tohatsu or Nissan (same engine) weight only about 100lbs!!
Find one, those the best for any inflatable in 30Hp range.

I thnk he meant the Etec was heavy like the 4 strokes. While the it is Heavy at about 147 not as bad as some 4 strokes.I think the Etec 30 is a great pick.
Has less frequent less complicated service intervals. No service for 3 years or
300 hours.We used to ski with a 61 25hp Gale using a 100lb adult spotter.
Don't know how a RIB responds but you should be able to ski with a 30.

I have a Tohatsu M30 2-stroke with electric start on my inflatable and it screams - I have hit 41knots in my Zodiac MK1 Futura with new plugs and fresh fuel. Together it is a perfect match! The 25/30 Tohatsu/Nissan would be the best choice; next would be the Yamaha 25 2-stroke, and lastly since all of those are hard to find an older Johnson 35 would be fine as well!

It's not a big weight or performer issue to have a 2 or 4 strokes engine mounted on that size rib. We are only talking of 10 Kg of weight difference between same model 2 and a 4 stroker. But, if available go for the 2 strokes 30 HP.
