In a cold weather climate like Illinois when do boat prices rise and fall? The season here, loosely, is from end of April to the end of October.

I assume no seller wants to be the last boat on the market for the year. When do the bargains start? End of August with the kids back to school?

The official end of summer September 21st. Or does the frugal shopper have to wait until there?s snow on the ground?

By the same token, what?s the absolute worse time to buy a boat if you?re a thrifty shopper? Just before the season? Mid summer?

Re: Best Boat Buying Time

It is always the best time to look, best time to buy is when you see what you want at a price that is reasonable and that you can afford. :)

Funny, I was talking to the Rinker dealer at Lake of the Ozarks today here in Missouri. He said there is always a sale and there really isn't a sweet spot. Then I asked him when he bought his boats. He said 85% of his boat purchases over the last 20 years has been in the winter, lol.
