Best Gear Lube

Whats the best lower unit gear oil to put in a 87 blackmax 150.. Ive been putting in Quicksilver premium, but when i went to walmart, autozone, and advance autozone earlier to get some an none of them had any..

So when I go to academy or some where else to get some, witch one is the better to get? The premium, the high performance or another brand all together?

That brand is Mercury's, try a dealer.

Recommended lube for that LU is Mercury High performance. It doesn't get along with premium, so drain it thoroughly, and do another change after a few hour running.

With the High perf lube in it, and if it's adjusted right, the LU will be unbelieveably reliable. Lesser lube and a little carelessness in maintenance, and it'll put a pinion out the side in a heartbeat.
