I'm planning for powerhead teardown in a month or so.

What is the preferred hard container method that is cheap for keeping powerhead teardown parts organized. This includes all the fragile parts as well.

I'm already using zip bags with sharpie notes on the small stuff.

Volume isn't as big of a concern I think as avoiding a plastic tote full of stacked stuff that should not be sitting on top of each other is my primary concern.

Until I get my replacement shed built, I will probably need everything except the block and crankshaft to fit in stackable totes to be out the way until I assemble it.

The block and crankshaft I can find somewhere safe to put it.

Pardon me while I smile a bit. But the question made my day. See, when you've had as many apart as I have, you'll just put it all in a big cardboard box and manage to come back two weeks later and put it back together.

But I know it is a serious question, and you deserve a serious answer. I suppose a few plastic containers from Wal-Mart ought to work.

I use 5 lb coffee cans, and group the small parts with the larger parts for a particular part of the motor, on the garage floor.

It makes using the correct bolts less of a guess.

If you are working on the powerhead, group the bearings, races, pistons and other parts in a single coffee can, labeled with the cylinder number.
