Best Patch for an Avon Inflatable?

[Nantucket Bay Scalloper]

I have a small cut in the side of my 14' Inflatable, its just below the water line and is approx a 2" slice. It isnt deep, but does leak some air. It isn't on a seam. I used a swimming pool liner patch kit and it worked for a season, but then fell off. Any suggestions?

Must use hypalon fabric and 2 part hypalon glue...

If you've never done it before follow these instructions to the letter http://www.nrsweb.com/repair/Clifton_Hypalon_Adhesive.asp and your boat will be good as new. I didn't include a link for Toluene (toluol) because you should be able to find it at your local paint store or Ace Hardware shop that caters to pros (big box stores will probably not have it), however, you must use it. It is essential to a good bond. I wouldn't worry about the accelerator. Good luck.

First you need to determine what the inflatable is made of......hypalon or PVC. The patches for are NOT interchangable, and the glues and procedures are not either I believe.

Avon's are only Hypalon.

Thanks INCOOP your links seemed to be doing the trick. Sadly I could have purchased a new inflatable for the price of all the stuff. I seriously think I've spent about 300 bucks on different patch kits and glue. Next time I'm gonna go right for the 5200 and see how that goes.

Nope. And, not sure if you've priced a used Avon lately, but they're considerably more than three bills, so dry your eyes and go fishing! Ya done good.
