best pitch for kicker prop

I just recently purchased a 1994 8hp mercury. It came with a brand new prop. Pitch shows as 9.<br /><br />Is this a good prop for trolling? Or, should I be looking for something a little different. I haven't even put the motor in the water, but it will only be used for trolling for salmon, and I don't want to have to rev it out to get the boat moving.

It's actually best to use a lower pitch prop and run the kicker at a slightly higher RPM to prevent plug fouling and cooling issues.
