I bought my boat with a bad motor. I had a new 5.7 330hp put in. The outdrive is Alpha One Gen II. WOT for engine is 5000 rpms. The prop that came with boat is a Ballistic 345131 which is 15 inch pitch. I am only getting 4100 rpms out of this setup. It seems strange to me that I would need to drop to 11 inch pitch. Does this seem normal or is there something else I should be doing?

I think you should have matched up 330HP with a bravo drive. What's the drives gear ratio?

I would go to the Sea Ray forum and ask there. You will find many owners there with the same boat that you have and find out what they are using.

330 ponys and 4100 with a 15p...i would think youd spin that beyond rec range... not 900 short...your throttle control to engine way out of adjustment?

Yes, a Bravo would be better but too expensive for now. Sea Ray forum had nothing. I will take a look at the throttle control adjustment. Thanks for the suggestions.

I talked with company I bought engine from. They recommend that I change the carb. Could my carb be the problem? The engine seems to run fine and all.

Don't assume because it's a new install that everything is right.A plug wire could be off or crossed.
As suggested throttle setting wrong,If itsc a 4 barrel do the secondaries open correctly?
what was the year and hp of the old motor? What is the gps speed at 4100?
