I am curious what woud be the best prop for my boat. I like to tube, so good hole shot is a must. Also, the WOT rpm is a bit low. I would like to get closer to 6000 rpm. Thanks!

Current prop: 13 1/4 X 17 stainless
WOT speed and rpm: 32 mph gps @5100 rpm
Load: 2 people and some gear (for the test) although sometimes I will have up to 5 people
Engine: 1975 Evinrude 70 hp
Boat: 1979 Manatee 15' tri hull

Re: best prop for my boat

Your present prop is at about 5% slip pretty amazing I wonder if the tach is reading a little low?
At any rate if you go to a 15" ss prop it should improve your hole shot and load ability but probably cost some top end.The 15" will add 300 to 400 rpm.
Before making any changes you might want to verify the tach.
Check that the throttle opens all the way and the anti vent plate(just above the prop) is about even with the bottom of the transom.
Is the bottom clean and smooth?
Motor in excellent tune?
Is there a lot of weight in the stern?
Do you trim down for hole shot/pulling a tube?
