I have a Johnson 225HP outboard. It has a REAL hard time pulling up skiers, single and double. The boat is a 21' fish and ski ( very heavy) but this is a big motor! The prop is a 3 blade SS 14 1/2 X 21. What would be recommended for better hole shot? I'm not worried about top end speed. I weigh 180 and it can BARELY pull me up on 1 ski.

Welcome to the forum!!:):)
Going to a 4 or 5 blade prop will help with hole shot.

What is the present wot(wide open throttle) rpm and speed (light load)?
How is the present hole shot?Do you trim in for hole shot?About how much is "very heavy"If you give us the brand/modelMight be able to figure weight.
What is your typical load when skiiing?Do you try to balance the load fore and aft?Is the motor in good tune, prop in good shape?

Try a 3 blade SS 14 1/2 X 19 !

My buddy had to go down to a 14 1/2 X 17 on his 24 footer with a 225 HP to get skiers up but also gave up 10 MPH.

See if a local prop shop will rent you one or let you switch them out until
you find the right one.
