Best prop pitch for 99 starcraft aurora 2415 with 5.7 and bravo 1

I bought a used 99 2415 aurora deckboat with a 5.7 and bravo 1 . I can't get it to tach more than 4200 . And it has a 23 pitch stainless prop do I need a smaller pitch?

Yes; you need to reduce pitch.

Figure 150-200 rpm change per inch of pitch change.

In your case, going to a 21 pitch should do the trick; raising the rpm 300-400 provided the prop is the same type as the current prop.

For example if you're running a Mercury Vengeance, sticking with the same type prop will give the most predictable results.
