How can I get a large amount of water out of my 60 gallon tank? I was thinking of letting it sit for a week, and then use the primer bulb to pump out the water into gallon jugs until I hit gas, then install a new water filter and gas her up.

What do you guys think? This is salt water in my aluminum tank, please advise. Thanks

seems like a good idea. dons had suggested just a thread or two ago that ya might want to get the bow up a bit in whatever way ya can figure out i suppose. that way the water settles to the back and bottom of the tank. reckon it depends on if ya can get yer siphon tube to the very back and bottom of the tank.
ya might R&R the fuel water seperator if ya got one too.
as for the alum and salt water. that i don't know. but seems salt water and anything don't mix best i read. hope that aint true for ya though.......

if your fuel level sensor is in the back and you
have access it is the best place to siphon from.
Tipping the boat up to get water to settle to the back
is the right thing, might jackup one side also.
be carefull if you remove the sender that when you raise the bow that the fuel doesn't run out !
There are small sparkproof pumps that will help if you have a ton of h2o.
Yes salt water and alum don't like each other

If it is salt water you best drain All the gas.Better to lose the fuel than ruining your fuel pump and other engine parts.

Thanks guys,

the salt water has been sitting in there for 5 months now, I think I am going to just junk the tank and get another, it is a 1984 tank so if i wasnt due before, I must be now.
