Best way to remove cracked nasty paint on a 1976 16ft fiberglass trihull? It was a recreational lobstering boat on a moring ball so its all stained, cracked and greenish.
Mainly the paint is rough like thick orange peel with white hull showing between the orange peel. I was thinking of sanding it down then just getting it down to white fiberglass and waxing it white. I figure the orange peel is gonna create a lot of drag on the water.
Is that a good plan?
Is Repainting neccessay?
What sandpaper should I use? Or is there a better way. Scrapers, chemical paint removers????
The boat won't be left in the water.
Thanks!
