Best way to save youtube

[Florida]

There are lots of tutorials and how to videos on youtube. I want to save them and store them. I plan on putting together a youtube libray.
What would be the best way to save and store videos? Can I use cd's?

You can use cd's, thumb drives, an external hard drive. For the size a thumb drive is the most bang for the buck IMO.

You can also put the player right on the drive also so if you take it with you, you will know the player will be available.

Somehow I do not think that is what Florida meant. Saving the link and saving the vid as a file are two different animals.

Sorry, i assumed question was to a final device.There are programs that can do that. all depends on your browser etc.

Myself i use firefox with ant video down loader.

google it for your browser type.

I've used RealPlayer SP to download youtube vids. Worked great and was free.

A small blue icon is in the corner of the video which asks if you would like to download the video.

Firefox has an add on called NetVideoHunter. Been using it for several months now and it works great.

set this as a bookmark Get Youtube Video anytime you are watching a youtube video you can click that and it will save it to your pc in mp4 format which anything should be able to play, forgot to mention it will work with any browser.

In order to use it you save it as a bookmark and then you go to youtube and watch the vide when you are watching the one you want you click on the bookmark and then a new option comes up in the description so you can download it then when you click that it comes up just like you are downloading a file.

Still does not seem to work. I added your link as a favorite then clicked on it when I had youtube open. It still went to website not found.

I'll try it at home and see if the link has changed from what I have saved there, it may have since on my work computer I have to go find it and then paste it it may have gotten a space in the wrong place.

Well as i found out that bookmarlet no longer works with youtubes new layout. Sorry guys.

Your post is a little confusing to me. If you are looking for a way to download the YouTube videos, try this:

http://keepvid.com/

All you have to do is paste the YT link onto the browser and it will download for you. You also have the option to save it as various file types.

If you want to save a bunch, you can store them on a flash drive. Then create a directory for the computer and log them. Afterward, convert them to DVD format (use ConvertxtoDVD) and burn a DVD and give them away to us! Or, better yet, why not start a forum on here and just start posting the crap out of the links?

I use typically save as HQ MP4..

open the pwn youtube bookmarklet while wathcing a video..

Right click on HQ MP4 > "save target as" > choose folder you want to save in (you may want to re-name the file at this time) > click save....

Note.. Windows media player does not support MP4 (unless there's a new codec for MP4? i dunno), but Divx player, Quicktime, and several others do...

Windows updates and Win7 will play MP4. They give you the standard warning that "it might not play correctly" and ask if you want to continue. All still play for me. If you save it and the 'good' quality, it will play without warning.
