I have a alluminum boat that I had a set of trim tabs on originally. I removed them and then siliconed the holes and its not doing that good of a job. I want a perminant fix for this. Almost like a bondo of some sort. Something I can paste over the holes for complete restoration and no leaks. What do I use?

I used a product called Marine Tex on mine. Like bondo. Easy to mix and apply, good below waterline, sands flush easy. You can see it in my thread on page 8 i think.

Edit: pg 8 is the holes, lots of pics of unsanded after that and then sanded out on pg. 12. Hope that helps.

I have also had great luck sealing holes with 5200. That stuff is amazing.

I had several holes form motor mounts on my jon boat. Pluged them with wood dowls and epoxy. They were above the water line.

In an aluminum hull ....... you can best seal the holes if they are larger then a rivet with a SS bolt and some 3m5200. If they are pop rivet size.....use some aluminum pop rivets with 3m5200 coating them before insertion.
