Best wireharness option

I have just swapped motors on my Javelin 409.
It had a 96' 225. I put a 93' 3.0L Limited Edition in its place.

The 96' has a newer wireharness that does not have the big red plug. However, my engine has the big red plug. I have both harnesses off both motors at my disposal.

What is the best method? Convert the boat to match the motor? Or convert the motor to match the boat? I've been told that there an adapter that I should use.

Suggestions required.

I bought the Javelin 409T for $2300. Everything is on it and it works. But, the motor had a hole in the lower case just below #5 cylinder. The owner had just bought it and was a fresh rebuild. He's a younger guy and saidnit had a small prop. I think he just over spun the motor and it let go. Said it was his first time out. I had the J200 3.0 Finger Port Limited already. It's supposed to be rated at 225 also. (Not sure)
