I pretty much have the basics figured out so no need to give basic feedback.

I have a 200HP mariner on my 20' tunnel hull. I have been trying to get better top speed, but i finaly gave up. I have the motor running about as good as it can. The fuel system is perfect. New pump(s), filters, screen, etc...

It has 123-125 psi comp on all six. Based on that I am betting the motor does not develop the horsepower it did when new.

I have a high speed low water nose cone from Bob's machine.

Using a High Five 23 I can over rev the motor with a full load. I get 62-6400 rpm at WOT witha full tournament load. Thats 40 gallons of fuel, two large adults, one full livewell, and all our gear. That puts me at 52-54 mph.

I have tried a 14 1/4 23,24,and 25 3 blade props. None of them felt right. I thinkt he High five is smaller diamter, but it does not say. I am think going to a 24 pitch high five might just do the trick, bt I hate to spend nearly $500 dollars on a prop just to try it. I already have a small forutne in props. There isn't anybody around where I live who stocks the High Five Props.

Do you guys know of a shop with a "mail order" loaner program?

Re: Bets Prop

They try to keep about the same total amount of blade area in a given series of props. You'll see diameter go down as pitch goes higher. Same with blades. More blades, lower diameter.

Main difference with 3-blade and 5-blade props is that 3's have to be run fully submerged. You can run that High Five with the water surface even with the top of the hub. The top two blades can be out of the water. Less gearcase in the water means less drag and more speed. Also easier to ventilate which isn't a good thing. (Heck, that's what Rev Limiters are for.)

You might try taking that prop to a good prop shop. They can increase the pitch.
