Trying to find out what is used to sanitize the syrup lines for the Bag-In-Box systems. I know you have to be careful not to get flavor transfer from the sanitizer.
Thanks

Re: BIB Dispensing system question

SS, I've worked on post mix for the last 22 years. If you just want to flush the best I'ved always used a baking soda and warm water solution, followed by carbonated water then your product. This will take care of most foul taste but will not take away root beer or strawberry taste, if thats what was in lines.
To do this, get 2 gal of c/w, then dissable carbonator: shut off water, unplug , and shut off co2 to carbonator. On the co2 to carb. I use a pinch off tool since I still need gas for my pumps. Now pull off bib connectors, stick hose in baking soda/water solution and push lever on soda valve untill bs/w solution is dispenced. Now you have 2 options, let the solution sit and move on to the next line or go ahead and flush out bs/w with c/w then put connector back on and follow with syrup now.
After all lines are flushed, fire up carbonator. The proper hook up on carb is co2 , water, now power. NEVER run carbonator without water. The pump has carbon impellers and 10 seconds can damage it.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Cajun,

I work on some minor stuff on Multiplex systems, but as far as the cleaning thats someone elses job. My brother in law has a concession trailer thats having disputes with Pepsi.

Thanks for the info, that is pretty much confirms what I have heard others say around here. I'll give him the directions that you posted. I have pinch off tools available
