On the old xt 600 I have one of those big plastic Paris/Dakar type tanks.
I think I had bad fuel in it so I removed it and drained it out, on the bottom there is alot of the brown old fuel residue
(varnish??)

To clean it out safely back to white plastic, what can I use without melting the tank??

Thanks

Rob

Did this on an old golf cart, k-1 rinse set shack dump, never got back to white but you could paint the tank.

Throw a handful of new nuts and bolts inside the tank and use them to agitate a cleaning solution around....... shake shake shake and all that garbage will come out. Just about any plastic safe solution will work.....even soap and water. Dump out the nuts and bolts and use a compressor to blow dry.

I've done this a few times to get rid of rust in a metal tank. Nuts, bolts, bb's, whatever you have inside the tank. What i do is strap the tank to a drive wheel on the mower, put the mower on jack stands, and use the drive wheels as an auto rotisserie. works like a charm, and you dont shake your brain loose.
