Bildge pump alternative?

Ive a small ski boat which, as most boats, collects a small amount of water at the bottom. There's a small thumb size hole aft which i'd like to put a hose in to extract the water. Is there a cheap in-line self priming pump i can use, or can I modify a bildge pump to suit this purpose without having to drill a larger hole?

how high can you jack the trailer?

i use a towel to mop mine up, not even close to getting the trailer jacked high enough to use the plug on the transom.

Sorry, i should have clarified, i'm looking for a solution whilst in the water. Although a towel is not a bad idea!!

You cannot modify a bilge pump as they are not self priming. The same holds true for most live well pumps. What you could use however, is a standard diaphram type pump that is used in marine water systems.
