Bilge Blower Air Flow

I am replacing the bilge blower on my used I/O. 1) The existing blower has the fresh air flow INTO the bilge. The new blower's directions show the contaminated air flow OUT FROM the bilge.
2) The boat has one blower, I am thinking of putting two blowers in. One exhaust on each side (Port / Star) of the tramsom. Any thoughts?

jfb --

1. install the new blower per the manufacturers recommendation, with the air flow OUT -- sounds like you're planning on doing that.

2. 3" blowers tend to move quite a bit of air (~150 CFM) and the 4" units move a LOT of air (200+ CFM). I personally can't see why you would want to install two, although having a spare on hand isn't a bad idea.

Anyway, nice to see yet another Mainah out here -- welcome to the iboats forums.

--rml

Like rml said, why would you need 2 blower? 1 is ample and the flow of air should be going out. Good luck.

"Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do."

Yes, install to blow out and locate end in lower point in bilge, but not too low or you be sucking up bilge juice.
