It looks like the old bimini top slides and ends are chrome as they are pitted. I'd like to replace them, however the stainless steel is a bit pricey for me. If I replace them w/chrome again, is there a way to care for it so it looks nice year to year?

You might take a look at www.MarinePartDepot.com. They sell all kinds of stainless steel parts including Bimini fittings at a great discount and with free shipping. They also sell the ball Bimini connectors you mentioned. Enter code n5820 for an additional 20% off through 8/17. Warning the savings come with a price in that don't expect to be able to communicate with them. They are great on ordering, shipping, providing tracking info, and quick delivery as I've experienced with placing many orders with them. Returns are a real headache though, so suggest avoiding the need to do so and also paying with Paypal.
