Bimini mounting on windshield frame

I notice that a lot of boats on my lake have their biminis mounted to the windshield frame. I would love it if I could do that. But I am afraid to drill there for fear of hitting my irreplaceable curved and tinted 1987 vintage side windows.
Does anyone have any insight?

Ayuh,..... There are clip on snaps, if yer windshield frame will match 'em,.....
